Proclamations

Two into One Sacred Assembly

Proclamation I
Here on this mountain, before the Lord our God, we make this proclamation to all our Pastors.  We confess we have fallen short; we declare our repentance and we proclaim our commitment to stand by your side.
In Exodus 17:10-13, while God’s people engaged the enemy in the valley, God’s leader Moses was on the mountain.  Victory was only realized when, up on that mountain, Moses upheld the Rod of God who was engaging the enemy on high.  When God’s leader got weary and help was needed, Aaron and Hur came to Moses’ aid.
As we desperately need victory in our valleys, we are committing, here on this mountain, to come to your aid.  As you, God’s leaders, hold high the Rod of God-- as the Lord engages the forces of evil in high places-- we declare our resolve to come alongside and give you a helping hand.
God says that you, His Pastors, are accountable to Him for watching out for our souls.  And His desire is that you have joy in doing it, not grief, which He said would be unprofitable for us.
Therefore, we confess rebellion against your responsibility to watch over us and we acknowledge the grief it has caused you and the Holy Spirit, Who according to Acts 20:28, appointed you to this task.  Realizing the need for change, we repent.  We purpose to honor and respect the responsibility of oversight that God has given you.  Please forgive us.
We will pray for you, in obedience to Hebrews 13:7, remembering you who have spoken the word of God to us, following you in your faith, considering the outcome of your conduct, considering you worthy of double honor.  From here on, with the help and power of God, we begin tonight on this mountain to lift you up in our hearts and keep you before the Lord in our prayers.

Proclamation II
We embrace the truth of 2 Chronicles 7:14.  We who are the people called by Your name in this city, now humble ourselves, pray, seek Your face, and turn from our wicked ways of racial prejudice, pride, bitterness, hardened hearts, and complacency.  We repent for ourselves and for those who have come before us here.   We believe You are true to Your word. You will hear from heaven, forgive our sins and heal our land.  HOSANNA!  COME, SAVE US!

Proclamation III
By the word of the Lord, we now apply Ezekiel 37 to our beloved city.  These two sticks represent the diversity of the church of Jesus Christ in Topeka.  We join them together this evening as a proclamation that we are no longer divided by race, tradition, or culture. We have become one never to be divided again.
We believe You are true to Your word.  We now proclaim the enemy’s stronghold of mistrust, racism, and prejudice and in the church is broken in this city.  You have made us one nation in the land.  We will no longer defile ourselves with the past transgressions of pride, bitterness, hardened hearts, and complacency.  We are cleansed by the blood of the Lamb.   Your Son is now King and Shepherd over us.  We enter into a covenant of peace with You and one another and welcome the tabernacle of Your presence so that You may multiply us and be glorified among the nations.
These two sticks also represent the cross of Jesus Christ.  They were joined together over two thousand years ago so man could be reconciled with God.  Now, Lord, reconcile man with man through Christ. We choose to take up our cross of repentance and reconciliation to bring restoration.  Bring healing to Your Church.  SEND REVIVAL, LORD!  LET THE NAME OF THE LORD BE PRAISED!
